Corrections come first
If something on this site is factually wrong, out of date, or unfairly presented, that matters more to us than anything we were planning to publish this week. Products get discontinued, specifications change, and listings move — we would rather fix it than leave it.
We do not currently operate a public inbox. That is a deliberate choice while the site is small rather than an oversight: an unmonitored address that quietly swallows messages would be worse than none at all. If you have found an error, the most reliable route today is to leave a note wherever you found the guide referenced, and we will pick it up on the next review pass. When we open a monitored channel, it will be listed on this page.
What we cover
ExploringOffgrid covers the systems an off-grid or rural property is built on: solar and stored power, water, heating and cooling, sanitation, refrigeration, cooking, connectivity, and the tools and gear that support them. If you are trying to work out whether a product fits your setup, the category pages are the fastest route to the relevant guide.
Partnerships and paid placement
We do not accept sponsored content, paid placement, or payment of any kind in exchange for a ranking position or a favourable review. Our only revenue is affiliate commission on products readers choose to buy, which never changes the order of our picks — see the affiliate disclosure for the full explanation.
Brands and PR representatives: we do not publish submitted content, and we do not run guest posts. Please do not send press releases expecting coverage.
Editorial standards
How guides are researched, verified, and reviewed is set out in our editorial policy, and the byline behind them is explained on the editor page.
